Why we invested in Revyze

Did you ever have that feeling at school when a friend easily explained a complex topic that a teacher couldn’t? When a contemporary could just make something "click" in your head.
That's part of why we at firstminute got so excited about supporting the €2m round of the all-star Paris-based team at Revyze, who have managed to put this feeling in a bottle with their super-successful social app.
What is Revyze? Well, Revyze aims to be the TikTok of education — a commmunity-powered app with a sharp focus on high school education. Essentially, Revyze wants to unbundle education videos from TikTok.
So far, the Revyze team focused on France’s baccalauréat (the exam that you have to pass at the end of high school). They started by building a quick version of the app, put together a Discord community to spread the word and shared a few videos on TikTok.
In just a few weeks, Revyze managed to attract 35,000 downloads. They reached the #2 spot in the top free apps of the App Store — right behind Doctolib.
Now, the company wants to turn this small experiment into a massive social & education app. They hope to reach 500,000 users by the end of the year and to expand to the U.S. within 6 to 12 months.
The team Florent Sciberras & Guillaume Perrot & Anatole Blanc is one of the most passionate and dynamic we have seen in a while and we are coming alongside some great other investors such as Nathan Blecharczyk, Jean-Charles Samuelian-Werve, Charles Gorintin, Mathilde Collin, Lenny Rachitsky, Thomas France, Julia Bijaoui, Roxanne Varza, Jacques Attali, Olivier Dacourt, Varsha Rao and others.
firstminute capital, Kima Ventures, AirAngels, Nomad Capital and Ligature: The Design VC also invested.
We can't wait to see what the Revyze team can build!
